Sycamore At St. Xavier Lacrosse

A two day lacrosse game.  The game was first started on a Saturday evening under sketchy skies.  It was so nice when I first arrived but as it got closer to the start of the game dark clouds started rolling in.  As I got down to the field and started getting ready you could hear the thunder start up.  Decided it was time to get all the rain gear on the cameras.  Got everything covered just as the rain started.  Unfortunately I left my rain pants so only the top half of me stayed dry.

Here is the start of the game.  Just a little rain.

Then it got kind of heavy for awhile.

The game was delayed because of lightening.  I sought cover by the St. X locker room and could hear the players.  They wanted to play and did not mind the conditions.  The rain and lightening stopped so after the mandatory 30 minutes play was resumed.  The weather actually seemed really nice at that point.

But after a little bit the lightening was getting too close so another delay was called.  When it became clear that the lightening was not going to go away anytime soon the game was postponed until Monday night.  A very good call since we ended up having tornado warnings and severe storms.  So when play resumed on Monday things just picked up from the stopping point on Saturday.  No storms around which was a good thing.  The players did not waste anytime getting back into things.  Lots of intensity by both teams and the fans were back as well to provide some noise.

I like the intensity that continued to the end of the game.
